"...Beautifully narrated by Candice Moll and Ron Butler, this audiobook leaves the listener cheering for the unlikely couple. Moll's narration perfectly captures Alice's brain injury, especially in her slow, thick speech...Both narrators bring the protagonists and supporting characters to life, drawing the listener into the world of their small Australian town."

"...Coulson's Lee and Moll's Annie are both very likable, and the narrators do an exceptional job expressing the characters' complex emotions as they begin to question the new meritocracy's harsh caste system. Moll also demonstrates her skill in the rich Scottish accents she gives characters from the Highlands."

"...this coming of age story is lifted to another level by charismatic narration. Moll does an amazing job at bringing Masie’s words to life giving them humor, personality and spunk. The issues surrounding Masie’s body are handled delicately and realistically, and her journey to self love is honest and uplifting.

"...Moll and Rosenberg nail the quirks and layers of their characters perfectly—from Will’s disaffected sneer, which covers up her deep vulnerability, to Harriet’s chipper observations, which are tinged with quiet desperation. The narrators excel at creating distinct voices for each girl while consistently mirroring the other in the dialogue between them. The consistency gives listeners insight into Will’s changing perception of Harriet and vice versa."

"...Candice Moll doesn't require much range in voicing the friends, and her steady narration serves the mysterious air of the letters better for it. Moll pulls in listeners with her crystal-clear reading of a found fifth letter that threatens to tear apart the friendships.

"...Moll captures her fierce protection of her family, especially when anti-immigrant activists question the legitimacy of their restaurant... The author, an Islamophobia expert, has penned a story bound to make listeners think. The narrators’ expressiveness makes it even more real.

"...Moll takes her time with Lou's never-to-be-sent letters to her boyfriend and shows her desperate heartbreak through a calm, almost detached tone. Both narrators prove themselves, like the characters they play, to be highly capable."

"...Candice Moll transforms herself into 11-year-old Cassie Anderson, a peacock detective, in the way skilled narrators can do. Her delivery is rapid, the sentences pouring over listeners... Moll makes the most of both the mystery and the humor laced throughout the story."
